thats because its the uni is legally a separate entity to those who ‘own’ it as it is a limited company. For example, if I had shares in a limited company, I would not neccessilary have access to the companies assets, in this case the slogan is probably a asset of the uni
they want profit because if they have extra money they can pay students bursaries and or scholrships to get the best students at their college/university or to pay for research/equiptment
right, but in order to do that we have to educate and organize. The same way that they did to realize our vulnerabilities. We out number them 10,000, 1.
Exactly! The value of the public is in the hands of the government and the people who rule the resource systems. The main resource of the wealthiest countries is money. When the countries reach a peak in technology or goods the earnings will create profit and at that time the government and banking systems will reduce overhead and the labor and costs of the benefits of services will be exploited. This is the way that government works when dealing with money. Sophistication is an illusion!
I’m not sure I understand the distinction. Is your assertion that factors such as greed, corruption, basic economic principles, etc differ between the two even though both nations are inhabited by human beings?
Craving profit is a sign of corruption when the services that you’re providing costs exorbanent amounts of money. Education should not be a luxury and shouldn’t only be for the rich. With that mindstate, it’s no wonder why America is struggling to compete in a global economy. This greed and corruption is the primary reason why the economic systems and educational systems are failing. Teach the people and they will provide better products and all will benefit. Isn’t that simple?
Craving profit is not a sign of corruption, and if education were actually entirely private, profit motive would lead to an amazing diversity, quality, and price in education as schools compete for students.
kind of makes me think of college football. Those players get no real money to play, but with the advertisements and commercials, etc… the schools are raking in. I love to watch college football, but when the tv channel advertises to me as I watch, in a way, I am giving money to a government funded institution. But, most colleges would rather drop their science department than the football program, go figure.
Even were one to refer to pref shares, it would be a bad example: entitlement to dividends does not imply that the shareholder holds a licence to copy publications in which the corp holds copyright. That said, I agree with the spirit of XO’s message.
Common shares don’t entitle you to a share of profits. They entitle you to a share of the VALUE of the ASSETs of the corp IF and WHEN it winds up. They are purchased and sold for capital gains, not for dividends. Bad example.

So lets get rid of government, not use it to steal from people.

I’m talking about America not India.
So why is it in India, a place with ab absolutely horrid public education system, private education is available and used by even the poor?
Your assertion that private education would only be for the rich is as absurd as saying private FOOD would only be for the rich.

Educational Institutions have become corrupt businesses and are now craving profit over production.

seems like a fair trade
the analogy works for me
TAX is a 3 letter word meaning extortion.
I think you were looking for Chocolate Shop. ha ha
You’ve got a point there, 1tinsoldier. It seems that the term “public property” is a nice way of saying that it really belongs to the government.
In the ideal democracy, the term “private property” would be more applicable, as the populus would have a say in what is done with that property.
“education is not a governmental function.”
Agreed.
